Ramon H Reyna, Sr., age 65, passed away January 2, 2017. He was born on March 13, 1951 to Juan Jose and Beatrice Reyna in Havana, TX. Raised in Texas, he graduated from La Joya High School in 1970, later earning a BS and MS degree from Webster University. After high school, he enlisted and served in the USAF from 1971 through 1993, retiring with the rank of MSGT and was honorably discharged. He married his wife of 46 years, Melba on June 23, 1970. After his military service, he obtained his teaching certificate, taught Special Education and became an Assistant Principal.

Ramon was a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He enjoyed participating with the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the American Legion. He will always be remembered for his service in the community, devotion to family, love of laughter and ability to seize every moment in life. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching the Cowboys and Spurs and enjoying the view from his boat.

Ramon is preceded in death by his father Juan Jose and brother Jesse Reyna. He is survived by his mother Beatrice, his loving wife Melba, his sons Ramon Jr (Molly), Juan (Christina), and Jesse, his grandchildren Palmer, Olivia, Dylan and Lauren; and his siblings Sonne Reyna, Minnie Zavala, Emily Hollowell, Juanita Ponce, Lucille Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017 at St. Andrew by the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, TX.

Pallbearers are sons Ramon Jr, Juan and Jesse, grandson Dylan and nephews Leo and Xavier Ramirez, Honorary Pallbearers granddaughters Palmer, Olivia and Lauren.
