Pamalie Kay Hutchens, 67, passed away December 27, 2016 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on July 13, 1949, to Ray and Natalie Worden in Corpus Christi, Texas and was raised in Sinton, Texas where she always had many fond memories of growing up.

She graduated from Sinton High School in 1967 and was an active member of the Sinton Presbyterian Church. She attended Del Mar College and graduated from Texas A&I-Kingsville in 1971 with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. Pam resided in Corpus Christi for 45 years and was active during that time at the First United Methodist Church.

Pam taught elementary school at Alice ISD, Tuloso-Midway ISD, and Corpus Christi ISD for 33 years before she retired in 2014. She was often approached by former students who remembered her fondly and would share stories and memories of their time in her class.

She was a founder, officer and member of a Wednesday night study group in Corpus Christi for over 30 years. Many friendships were forged that are still lasting.

Pam was a loving mother, sister, and aunt and will always be remembered for her devotion to her family. She lived happily with her best friend, Don Adams, for the past 13 years. They spent many happy weekends taking driving trips in their corvette or camping in their travel trailer. Pam appreciated music of all genres and enjoyed playing the piano throughout her life for her own enjoyment.

Pam is preceded in death by her father and mother Ray and Natalie Worden, as well as her brothers Gary Lee Worden and Leo Stanley Worden.

Pam is survived by her best friend and companion Don Adams, son John Ray Hutchens and wife Marsha of Corpus Christi, daughter Leigh Ellen Hutchens of Corpus Christi, sister Glenda Gregorcyk and husband Bill of Corpus Christi, nephew David Gregorcyk and wife Jenny of Austin, grandchildren Emma and Evan Hutchens of Corpus Christi, great nephew Reid Gregorcyk of Austin and lifelong friends Sonny and Aline Douglass of Corpus Christi.

Charitable donations in Pam's name may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
There will be a celebration of Pam's unique and wonderful life at a later time.
