Janis "Jan" Sullivan of Dallas, Texas, 67, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving husband of 44 years, Steve, and daughters Colleen and Anne.

Janis was born in Marlin, Texas on July 26, 1946 to Dan and Vivan Yezak. She grew up in Rockdale, Texas and was a graduate of Rockdale High School. She graduated from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University - Commerce) where she met Steve. Janis and Steve were married on August 9, 1969 in Austin, Texas. They lived in Dallas, Corpus Christi, San Angelo, and Lakeside Park, Kentucky, and enjoyed spending time in their home in Rockport, Texas. Janis loved playing tennis in Corpus Christi, and Mah Jongg in Rockport, volunteered with St. Pius X Catholic Church and Ronald McDonald House in Corpus Christi, and had been a member of the Ocean Drive Garden Club and Las Donas de le Corte. She had a beautiful life, full of friends, laughter, and fun. Her generous and thoughtful personality was treasured by many and she will be missed tremendously.

Janis is preceded in death by her father Dan Yezak and brother Daniel Yezak.

Janis is survived by her husband Steve Sullivan, her daughters and sons-in-law Colleen and Kevin Russell and Anne and Jeff Hebert, all of Dallas, and her mother Vivian Yezak of Taylor, Texas. She is survived by two sisters, Deborah Currey of Elgin, Texas and Linda Lam of Princeton, New Jersey.

A Memorial Mass to celebrate Janis's life will be held at the Corpus Christi Cathedral on Saturday, June 7th at 10:00 a.m., to be officiated by Monsignor Richard Shirley, with music provided by the Corpus Christi Cathedral Pontifical Chorale. Interment will be at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, Texas. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Janis.
