On Sunday, August 10, 2014, the angels came and wrapped their arms around Carlos (Chico) Pacheco, age 61, guiding this beautiful spirit home to our heavenly father. With a blink of an eye this strong, healthy, kind, and loving man was suddenly swept away from a beautiful life he had been blessed with on this earth. He was born on February 27, 1953 to Gerald and Lydia Pacheco in San Antonio, Texas. He was raised in San Antonio, Texas.

Chico graduated from Central Catholic High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1971. He attended the Mission Espada in San Antonio, Texas from 1st grade to 8th grade. He had a calling to be a Priest and attended Seminary Schools at St. John's Seminary and Assumption Seminary in San Antonio, Texas. After two years of college, he joined the Marines Corp. Chico was a very proud Marine and served for four years serving in Japan, Korea, and other numerous duty stations. His accolades as SGT. include National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Sharpshoot Badge. SEMPER FI!

He worked for the FAA for 35 years as an Air Traffic Controller and Systems Analyst working in Austin, Texas, Denver, Colorado, Harlingen, Texas, Honolulu, Hawaii, Little Rock, Arkansas, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and numerous other locations including Iraq.

During the time when he was working at Honolulu airport is where he met the love of his life, Linda of 22 years, they married in Hawaii, had their son Austin before moving to Corpus Christi, Texas which was home for the next 20 years. After his years with the FAA, Chico went on as a private Air Traffic Controller and Instructor working at the FAA headquarters in Oklahoma City. He recently spent time in Iraq to help stabilize their air system and teach their air traffic controllers. At the time of his passing he was working in Galveston, Texas.

Chico was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. He loved riding his Harley, playing golf, fishing, hunting, and was the grill master. He loved and spoiled his 3 English Bulldogs: Sattie, Bertha, and Roscoe. He loved to tackle his Honey-Do list and looked forward to it. His quest in life was to constantly satisfy his wife's every need and was the most magnificent host when friends came over attending to their every need. He was married to his wife of 22 years on November 28, 1992. He was a devoted husband, father, and son.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Pacheco; and his father-in-law, Francis King.

Carlos is survived by his wife of 22 years, Linda Ann (King); daughter, Kirsten Pacheco of Washington State; sons, Charlie Pacheco of Washington State, Austin Pacheco of Corpus Christi, Texas; mother, Lydia Zulaica Pacheco; siblings, Cynthia Pacheco and Jamie Pacheco of San Antonio, Texas; mother-in-law, Fe King of Lanark Village, Florida; grandchildren, Mason Pacheco of Washington State, Austin Pacheco, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 3502 Saratoga Blvd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78415 with Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Inurnment will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at a later date.
