Candelario T. Garza ("C. T.")
C. T. was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 31, 1931, to Maria del Refugio T. Garza and Juan D. Garza.  He graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1951 and went on to serve our Country from 1952 to 1953. 

As a member of the U.S. Army he fought in combat in the Korean War.  He was awarded a Korea Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, a United Nations Service Medal, a National Defense Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.  He was a Disabled Veteran Life Member of DAV Chapter 150.

He owned and managed his own building company and was in the construction business for 55 years.  The homes he built are throughout the Coastal Bend area and are featured in the Parade of Homes.

In 1979, he obtained his Real Estate license.

C. T. was a devout Catholic.  He furthered his journey and walk with Christ when he made his Cursillos De Christiandad in 1968.  He was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. 

C. T. is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alicia; his five children, Mike Garza (Lydia Rodriguez), Anna Salcido (Rick), Steve Garza (Mary Pat), Hilda Works and Sandy Garza; his six grandchildren, Steven Salcido (Roxy Villarreal), Stephanie Crisp (Jimmy), Selina Salcido, Sarah Works, Eric Works and Sam Works; his four great grandchildren, Davin Salcido, Sofia Salcido, Stella Salcido and Joseph Crisp; and his brothers-in-law, Alex Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez, Albert Rodriguez (deceased); sisters-in-law, Dora De Los Santos and Ester Evans (Charles). C.T. was loved by numerous nieces and nephews. His siblings are, Irma Paz, Eloisa Moya, Joe Garza (deceased), Luis Garza (deceased), Johnny Garza (deceased), Cleo Elizondo (deceased) and Mary Sanchez (deceased).

Special thanks to all his medical providers for their loving dedication to his care and numerous prayers and words of support from family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-9pm, Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm that same evening.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am, Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
