Bernard Jerome Seal, Jr., known to all as "B.J.", lost his courageous battle with cancer on January 12, 2017 at the age of 57.

B.J. loved his family, friends, music, food and his adopted hometown of Corpus Christi. He was a Realtor turned restaurateur owning Bernard's Deli which later became Bernard's Catering. B.J. was born in Florence, Alabama and moved to Corpus Christi in 1962 with his family, father Bernard Jerome "Berney" Seal, for whom he was named, mother Evelyn Abroms Seal Kraus, and his two brothers, Mark Seal and Eddie Seal. He attended King High School and then went on to graduate from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. After graduating he returned home and became a Realtor with his family's firm, Berney Seal Co. Realtors before entering the food business. Loved by all, B.J. will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, caring nature, his wonderful sense of humor and incredibly delicious food that he so lovingly created and served.

He was preceded in death by his father Bernard J. "Berney" Seal.
and is survived by his his beloved children, Bernard Jerome "Trey" Seal III , Connor Al Seal and Sabrina Ellen Seal, fiancÚ Jena Pickett Kauffmann, mother Evelyn Abroms Kraus , stepfather Dr. Melvin M. Kraus, step mother Shirley Gail Seal, brothers, Mark Seal (Laura) and Eddie Seal (Melissa) stepbrothers & step sisters, Marsha Kraus Underberg (Mike) , Marlene Kraus Wright (Jimbo), Dr. Alan Kraus (Malea) , Dr. David Kraus (Cathy) , Glen McElroy (Del) , cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, his former wife and in laws, Alana Dodds Seal , Al Dodds, Marian D'Unger (Gerald), the Abroms family, Jalenak family and the many friends and loyal customers whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be held 6-9pm, Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30pm, Monday, January 16, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
